EXPANDED RECREATIONAL DIVING(FOUNDATIONS OF TECHNICAL DIVING)

Tec 40 Dives can be done in mainly regular scuba gear. The course is designed to produce divers who can SAFELY and COMPETENTLY execute decompression to 130'. Students have extraordinary flexibility over their equipment choices and may use a high capacity single cylinder with Y/ H valve or a single cylinder plus stage or pony, or may use doubles plus stage cylinder, or sidemount plus stage cylinder. Decompression gas will be 50% O2 max.
The course is accessible to PADI Advanced Open Water divers (or equivalent) and in addition requires:
- PADI Enriched Air Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- PADI Deep Diver (or proof of at least 10 dives to 100’)
- a minimum of 30 logged dives, of which at least 10 must be enriched air dives deeper than 60’
- Minimum age: 18 years old
Technical Competence

Tec 45 Builds upon the skills and competencies developed in Tec 40 and immerses the diver in technical diving drills, skills and procedures. Dives must be done in technical equipment, either doubles or sidemount. Tec 45 safely takes the diver deeper and using up to 100% oxygen for decompression.
The course is accessible to PADI RESCUE divers (or equivalent) and in addition requires:
- Tec 40 diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- PADI Deep Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least 12 must be enriched air dives deeper than 60’ plus 6 dives deeper than 100’ (with or without EANx)
- Minimum age: 18 years old
Technical Mastery

The course is accessible to PADI RESCUE divers (or equivalent) and in addition requires:
- Tec 45 diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- PADI Deep Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
- a minimum of 100 logged dives, of which at least 20 must be enriched air dives deeper than 60’ plus 15 dives deeper than 100’ (with or without EANx)
- Minimum age: 18 years old

Successful completion of this course marks the pinnacle of achievement for any diver and will provide the successful student with a certification that has no stated limits. The Tec Trimix diver course takes you to the edges of technical diving opening doors to dive sites that few, if any, will ever have seen. To access this uppermost level of certification requires significant dedication and commitment to developing the very highest levels of skills, knowledges and practices.
- Tec65 or equivalent is a prerequisite. Students not previously trained with me are advised to undergo a dive evaluation prior to the course.

NOTE: Much of your regular scuba will likely be perfectly adequate for Tec 40. Where it is not, certain equipment is available to rent very inexpensively for the courses, see the Required Equipment page for further gear details and equipment suggestions.
Cancellations for a full refund are accepted no later than 60 days before training or travel commences. After this time full refunds will only be issued if the course instructor is unavailable to proceed with the agreed schedule. Cancellations or rescheduling after this time carries a $200 non-refundable deposit for all courses; included in the course fee.
For the Tec40 course, divers are advised to obtain insurance to cover unforeseeable and foreseeable complications including recompression treatment, accidents, disease and infections. Insurance is required for Tec Deep, Tec45, Tec50 and all Trimix courses.
Attempting to perform technical diving without proper training and equipment may result in serious injury or death.

Please Note: All dives must be completed to the Instructor’s satisfaction. The Instructor reserves the right to require further training and can refuse to issue a certification card if the student's performance does not meet the course standards.
